The unreasonable effectiveness of Openness OR How AI learned to love Open Science

Artificial Intelligence was built on principles of open science. This foundation has led to a unique and exciting phenomenon where unlikely collaborators regularly come together to release cutting-edge research for free, regardless of traditional affiliation boundaries. In this talk, Joe Spisak – a product leader within Meta AI’s research organization, will lay out the landscape of AI including how open science has contributed to the AI’s rapid progress over the last decade. He will also dive into what it means to operate in the age of open science, talk about some of the projects that embody these principles, the impact they’ve brought and finish up with some ideas on where you can get involved.
