Applications of Graph Convolutional Networks for fighting financial crimes

The first half of the talk will introduce the Financial Crimes domain in the Fintech space to the audience. It will provide a brief overview with the different programs under the remit (Sanctions, Customer Risk Rating, KYC, Transaction Monitoring and Suspicious Activity reporting), as well the specific challenges faced by Block (CashApp in particular). The second half of the talk will focus on some emerging research & application of graph neural network architectures to improve the performance of existing customer risk rating and transaction monitoring systems.
